ABOUT ME

I am a qualified person-centred therapist, with experience of working with both adults and young people. I work in a confidential, genuine, empathic and non-judgemental way.
I seek to create a safe and trusting environment for you to explore your issues, whilst prizing your uniqueness above all.

WHAT IS COUNSELLING

Life can be overwhelming and there are times when it feels almost impossible to deal with the challenges it brings.

If you need flexible remote support please be aware that I am currently offering telephone and Zoom counselling sessions, as well as e-counselling if required, alongside face to face in-person sessions, for those who require them.
Childhood abuse, neglect, bullying, obsessive and/or intrusive thoughts, anxiety, depression, bereavement, loss, toxic relationships, relationship break ups, trauma, stress, are all extremely distressing and many people struggle to overcome these incredibly painful experiences on their own.
Counselling offers you the opportunity to make sense of, and explore, at your own pace, any issues that may be impacting your life and/or relationships within a safe, comfortable and confidential environment.

"Growth occurs when individuals confront problems, struggle to master them, and through that struggle develop new aspects of their skills, capacities, views about life."
Carl Rogers

HOW I WORK

I have experience of working alongside clients from 9 yrs to 70+yrs of age with a wide range of issues. I am passionate about what I do and truly believe in the value of the therapeutic relationship.

I offer remote sessions via telephone and Zoom.
Research suggests that the therapeutic relationship is key to successful therapy. Feeling that you can trust and share your inner-most thoughts and feelings with your therapist is extremely important and I hope that our initial session together will help to assist you in deciding if my approach and style of counselling is the right fit for you.

I am a trauma-informed practitioner and I will work carefully and at your pace to establish a safe working environment.
The initial consultation session is £50 and lasts approximately 50 minutes with no obligation to continue. This initial assessment provides an opportunity for you to talk about your difficulties, and for you and I to decide whether counselling is the right step for you. Practical issues such as timing, costs and the duration of counselling can also be discussed. If you decide to proceed, you will be offered a regular appointment.
Counselling sessions last up to 50 minutes and are usually weekly, although sometimes an agreement is reached to meet more or less frequently.

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."

"What you are to be, you are now becoming."
